This position is responsible for the design, analysis and reporting of clinic hospital, and health system financial data for the purpose of physician and associate staff salary administration. The position will compute provider production statistics and maintain databases. The position will create methods for report generation, report scheduling, report distribution; data downloads and uploads, data manipulation, and data maintenance. The position will understand and help execute the unique compensation plans for the physician staff.
The position will interpret clinic and hospital financial data requests and design queries and reports to display the data to best support the salary administration process and to meet the end users' expectations. A clear understanding of clinic and hospital functions, medical terminology, and a technical knowledge of the clinic and hospital financial systems and relational database products will be necessary to complete this function.
The position will download data from financial and clinical data systems into other software products. Once the data is in these products, the position will manipulate the information to prepare final reports and perform analyses.
The position will track clinic and hospital financial data requests, create methods to generate reports on a scheduled basis, ensure that report distribution is completed on a scheduled basis. The position will work with the information systems department to create portals for reporting.
The position will design and maintain databases which receive data from other systems. The position will create and maintain historical data bases containing billing, RVU, patient visit, and salary data. An understanding of how relational databases work will be mandatory.
The position will develop an understanding of the physician compensation process and the various external regulations that govern it. The position will support the department’s work with executive committee in all matters relating to salary administration
The position will respond to questions from department chairs and the medical and associate staff related to production and salary information. It will investigate data irregularities and determines causes. The position will also respond to questions from lay and medical management.
This position will identify billing errors. It will work closely with Revenue Cycle Department to resolve billing and RVU discrepancies.
This position will present data reflecting analyses performed. It will ensure customers are satisfied with data and that data meets users' needs.
The position will validate data and confirm the accuracy of all reports produced. The creation of highly accurate reports is a fundamental requirement of the job.
The position requires viewing of clinical systems (e.g. Epic, lab, radiology, TEC) in order to validate information for reporting and establish financial systems. This can involve seeing patient specific information.
This position will perform other projects and duties as required.
