This is an on-call position.


The Simulation Technician will set-up and operate human patient simulation manikins, multimedia, computer and related equipment.  This position will play a key role in training and education through the replication of medical conditions and responses using a variety of healthcare scenarios.

Job Responsibilities
  • Executes simulation experiences with human patient simulation manikins for the purposes of educating students and Gundersen Lutheran staff.

  • Programs human patient simulators, prepares scenario props and creates scenario Moulage to model physiological responses to the clinician, skill objectives and specifications identified by instructional staff.
  • Collaborates with both internal and external individuals to develop and improve program curriculum. Promotes marketing and growth of the simulation center.
  • Performs general maintenance for simulation and all supporting equipment. Reports equipment malfunctions to manager to ensure timely repair.

  • Supports daily operation of the simulation center through performing pre- and post-simulation activities including set-up and restoring lab to pre-scenario conditions. Supports compliance with lab policy and procedures.
  • Supports responsible management of simulation lab supplies and equipment.
  • Performs other job-related responsibilities as requested.

    Position Qualifications
    Education and Experience:
    Required High School Diploma or equivalency +   healthcare technical certification training 
    Desired Associate degree in   a health related field or  Medical Terminology and Anatomy and Physiology college level coursework (will need to produce an official transcript) 

    or a Bachelor's degree in a health related field
    Work Experience:
    Required 2 years of experience working in a healthcare related field and experience with computer technology and electronics
    Desired 1 year prior experience as a CNA, EMT or Paramedic and working with high-fidelity manikins
