Job Details

Part Time Position (24 hours every two weeks)

 

This position works every other weekend from 6:00am - 6:00pm


Provide medical dispatch of ground and air medical transportation services.

Job Responsibilities
  • Receives requests for emergency and non-emergency transportation by radio, telephone, and computer system.
  • Dispatches appropriate ground and air ambulance resources according to protocol.
  • Records and documents activities relating to dispatching of ground and air ambulance resources.
  • Monitors public safety activities within Tri-State Ambulance service area through monitoring of radio systems and working with outside agencies (e.g. 911 centers) to maintain awareness of public safety activities in the area, which may require EMS response.
  • Maintain knowledge of service area of ground and air ambulance services being dispatched.
  • Assist with data entry and record keeping to support quality improvement activities.
  • Performs other job-related responsibilities as requested.

    Position Qualifications
    Education and Experience:
    Required High School Diploma or equivalency

    Work Experience:
    Required 1 year experience in using multiline telephones, radio dispatching equipment, and computer aided dispatching systems.
    Desired 1 year experience dispatching ambulances, police and/or fire units, and previous patient-care ambulance experience. Experience as Emergency Medical Dispatcher (APCO, Medical Priority), First Responder, or Emergency Medical Technician.
