This is an unpaid internship. Candidates for this internship should be enrolled in a in master’s level program focusing on mental health services (Counseling or Social Work) and should have the majority of course work completed. This is an opportunity for someone who is looking to complete their practicum and internship. Generally, this would take about a year in length to complete.
Schedule would be about 3 days per week (8:30am - afternoon/ hours could vary).
Issues that this role often deal with include: mood, relationships, trauma, suicidality, healthy coping strategies, and personality disorders. We are looking for candidates who what to focus on these topics.
The candidate will be working with individual therapy, participating in multidisciplinary staffing, shadowing other BH providers and programs, conducting intakes, participating in weekly 1 on 1 supervision and completing all necessary paperwork and documentation associated with patient interactions.
Gundersen Health System provides a professional hands-on experience tailored to meet the interests of the interns in conjunction with the current activities of the department. Internships are available to students who have graduated from or are currently enrolled in an associate's, bachelors or master’s degree program.
